North Dublin Wildcats All Star Cheerleading Squad

The North Dublin Wildcats Cheerleading program was established in 2008 by Hayden McGurk. The program operates in Finglas West with a a sister program in Cabra at the Parkside Sport Centre.

The program focus on the US style of All Star Cheerleading. As Ireland is not as advanced any many international countries when it comes to sport cheerleading, we believe in coaching our athletes using the proper progression table.
This means we spend a lot of time working from the ground up with our stunting/tumbling/dancing and jumping which will help us in our future.

We always strive to master our basics, as our basics help us with everything else.

We cater for children aged 5-15 years of age and occassionally have openings for new children to join.
Anyone who joins does not have to be able to have a background in gymnastics or acrobatics, though it is an advantage.
All we ask is that parents/guardians are fully supportive of the children whilst in the program and understand that there are expenses, such as 4 weekly fees, uniform, kit, competition costs and travel to championships.
We like to ask the parents to encourage positive and good behaviour, practicing at home and to be a part of their childs cheerleading life.

In 2009 the Wildcats took part in their first competitions:

1. Northern Ireland Championships - April 2009
Trophies: 2nd Junior Pom Dance & 3rd PeeWee Pom Dance

2. All Ireland National Cheerleading Championships 2009 - October 2009
Trophies: 1st Junior Cheer 1, 1st PeeWee Tumbling Solo & 3rd Youth Pom Dance

Upcoming competition we hope to compete in:

1. Northern Ireland Championships - March 2010

2. Junior will be travelling to the UK to participate in a British competition. - June 2010

3. All Ireland National Cheerleading Championships 2010 - Summer 2010
